Retake Picture Day
Picture Retake Day — Friday, November 17, 2026
Our school photographer will be on-site on Tuesday, November 17th, from 9:30–11:30 AM for students who were absent on Picture Day or would like a retake.

Need a retake?
Please let your child’s teacher know ahead of time and send the original picture package back to school on Nov. 17th to return to Dorian.

Art Docent Training II
Art Docents Needed!
Love art and enjoy creating with kids? Become an Art Docent! Ella Baker’s art program gives every classroom the opportunity to create hands-on art projects, including working with clay in our school kiln.
As an Art Docent volunteer, you’ll help students with their clay projects and may also assist teachers with Deep Space Sparkle (DSS) art projects.
No art experience needed! You’ll attend a 1-hour training and then help with just two clay sessions (about 90 minutes each). DSS projects are scheduled with teachers, and you don’t need to attend every session.
Art Docent Training: Training will be held in the STEAM Lab. You only need to attend one training session.
Friday Nov 6th at 9:30 am - 10:30 am
Flexible scheduling: We know our volunteers have busy schedules, so we work with teachers to find times that work for you.
It’s a fun way to get creative, connect with students, and support the arts at Ella Baker!

We still need your help to make Trunk or Treat & Game Night a success! Please consider hosting a trunk, volunteering to help with games, or donating candy and Halloween decorations.
🌧️ Event Schedule Update
To minimize the time our trunk hosts spend outdoors in the rain, we’re adjusting the schedule:
Trunk or Treat: 6:00–6:45 PM
Commons & Game Night: 6:00–8:00 PM
PTA Games & Activities: Some games may not begin until 6:45 PM.

🎲 Volunteer for Games & Activities
Help run games and activities throughout the evening. Your time makes a big difference!

Brick & Mortar Books, 5–7 PM
Stop by for stories read by Ella Baker teachers and staff, and shop for books. 20% of all purchases during the event will be donated to the Ella Baker library.

Dine in or order to-go during restaurant hours, and show the flyer or mention the Ella Baker fundraiser when you pay. 20% of eligible food sales will be donated to the school.

Spring Enrichment Registration Opens
🎉 Spring Before & After-School Enrichment Classes
Registration OPENS on Feb 23! Sign up by March 13th. Classes run March 30th – June 5th.
This spring, students can join classes such as Basketball, Art, Theatre, Soccer, Chess, International Dance, Persuasive Communication, Spanish, Coding, Choir, and Robotics.

🎨 Color a Smile: Create colorful mail for seniors, troops, and those who are sick

Science Assembly with “The Zaniac”
Two-time Guinness World Record holder Alex Zerbe, “The Zaniac,” will be visiting Ella Baker on the morning of February 4 for a high-energy science assembly! His show combines comedy, creativity, and real science concepts to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Parents are welcome to join this assembly in the gym.
