Science Assembly with “The Zaniac”
Two-time Guinness World Record holder Alex Zerbe, “The Zaniac,” will be visiting Ella Baker on the morning of February 4 for a high-energy science assembly! His show combines comedy, creativity, and real science concepts to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Parents are welcome to join this assembly in the gym.

Join us for a meaningful, hands-on Night of Service as our school community - students, families, and staff - comes together to make a real difference, one act of kindness at a time.
🧶 Fleece Hats for New Bethlehem Shelter: Make warm, cozy hats
🐾 Cat & Dog Toys for Motley Zoo: Craft toys to bring comfort and joy to furry friends
🎒 Essential First Street Kits: Assemble kits for individuals experiencing homelessness
🎂 Goody Bags for Birthday Dreams: Help every child celebrate their birthday
🎨 Color a Smile: Create colorful mail for seniors, troops, and those who are sick
🎨 Students Rebuild — Unique & United: Create a community art piece

Spring Enrichment Registration Opens
🎉 Spring Before & After-School Enrichment Classes
Registration OPENS on Feb 23! Sign up by March 13th. Classes run March 30th – June 5th.
This spring, students can join classes such as Basketball, Art, Theatre, Soccer, Chess, International Dance, Persuasive Communication, Spanish, Coding, Choir, and Robotics.

Trunk Or Treat
Join us for a spooky good time on Friday, October 31, 4–5 PM (right after the parade & assembly) in the upper parking lots by the rec fields.
Special Guests:
We’re excited for the possibility of having our local Fire and Sheriff’s Departments join us again this year!—kids always enjoy meeting our community heroes and seeing the vehicles up close!
Parking Note: If you park in the lot used for Trunk or Treat, you’ll need to stay until the event ends for safety reasons.
Volunteers Needed! Decorate your trunk with a family-friendly Halloween theme (pumpkins, ghosts, costumes) and hand out store-bought treats.
School Assembly - Costume Parade
Our School Celebration Information
At Ella Baker we have a tradition of a student costume parade. We will continue this tradition on October 31st, and we invite our families to join us for the fun.
Assembly/Costume parade:
· Families are invited to campus at 2:55. Families may line our main hallway as students come to the assembly and enjoy our assembly in the commons at 3:10.
· Families are also invited to wear costumes. (Please refrain from wearing scary costumes)
· We encourage families to walk to school and ask families with cars to park in our visitor parking lot or the soccer field parking lot (not on Eastridge Drive near our school).
Student costumes: Here are the guidelines for costumes at school:
· Costumes are optional
· If students choose to wear costumes, they should plan to wear the costume to school.
· No masks, face-paint/makeup, fake blood, weapons, scary costumes or hand-held accessories
· Costume should allow for normal school work e.g. writing, walking, playing at recess, PE etc.
· If you need access to costumes, please contact your child's teacher or our school counselor, Mrs. Foss
