School Play - Theatre Week

Join us for an immersive week of theatre as Missoula Children's Theatre returns to direct students in a production of the Little Mermaid March 22nd - March 27th 2027! 

Registration opens February 22, 2027, and is open to all ages!  

DETAILS

APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE (actual schedule is dependent on role; younger students typically rehearse only for the first two hours of each day and do not rehearse Tuesday)

Monday: 3/22: 4-6 PM auditions & 6:15-8:15 rehearsal

Tuesday: 3/23: 4-8:15 PM

Wednesday: 3/24: 2:30-6:45 PM

Thursday: 3/25: 4-8:15 PM

Friday: 3/26: 4-8:15 PM

Saturday: 3/27: 2-7:15 PM (Performances at 3 PM and 5:30 PM @ Ella Baker commons stage)

 AUDITION INFO

All registered students are guaranteed a part. However, students do not get to choose their part. Parts are selected by MCT Tour Directors. Please help us make this process go as smoothly as possible by talking to your student(s) about this process and setting expectations. Although they might not get the part they want, they will most likely still have a great time!

 Please plan to be at school at 6pm on Monday March 22nd to either pick up your student or confirm that they need to stay an additional two hours to rehearse (dependent on part).

CHAPERONES & VOLUNTEERS

We need two volunteer chaperones for each day of theatre week.  Chaperones receive a 20% discount on tuition per day they chaperone.

If you are interested in chaperoning, please reach out to theatre@ellabakerptsa.org now (or any time before enrolling your students) and let us know what day(s) you would like to chaperone.

SHOW SYNOPSIS

Deep in the salty waters of the Sassafras Sea, there lived a Little Mermaid. Her name was Celia. She lived for music. In fact, it was said that she had the loveliest scales in all of the Deep. Celia and her three sisters were allowed one visit to the World Above, each on their sixteenth birthday, to learn the secrets of life on dry land. Their discoveries included ferocious dragons, advancing armies and, of course, a handsome and resourceful Prince Charming. In a new version of the age-old tale, lots of music, plot surprises and humor await the audience.
